Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Frankfurt

  • Arrive in Frankfurt, one of Germany’s most vibrant cities.
  • Enjoy a smooth transfer to your hotel and settle in.
  • Spend your afternoon at leisure, exploring the nearby surroundings or relaxing after your journey.
  • Look out for details about your upcoming adventure displayed at the hotel reception.

Day 2Frankfurt – Rhine Cruise – Cologne – Dortmund

  • Journey through the scenic Rhine and Moselle Valleys, known for their storybook landscapes and historic charm.
  • Enjoy a short cruise on the Rhine River, between Rüdesheim and Sankt Goar, the most picturesque stretch of the river.
  • Stop for lunch in Cochem, a fairytale village dominated by a thousand-year-old hilltop castle.
  • In Cologne, explore the iconic Gothic cathedral, once the tallest building in the world.
  • Take a riverside walk and enjoy the lively city centre before heading to Dortmund for the night.
  • *Note: During fairs or congresses, your accommodation might be arranged in a nearby city.

Day 3Dortmund – Fairy Tale Route – Hannover

  • Follow the enchanting Fairy Tale Route, inspired by the stories of the Brothers Grimm.
  • Visit Trendelburg, a walled village home to the famous Rapunzel Tower and a majestic mediaeval castle (entry included).
  • Drive through forests straight out of Hansel and Gretel.
  • Stop in Höxter for lunch and visit Corvey Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage Site from the 9th century (entry included).
  • Explore the ruins of Cinderella’s Castle in Polle (entry included).
  • Wander through the streets of Hamelin, the town of the Pied Piper legend.
  • Continue to Hannover, with time to discover the historic Old Town Hall area.
  • *Note: Corvey Abbey is closed from November to February. Accommodation may be in a nearby city during major events.

Day 4Hannover – Hamburg – Flensburg – Aarhus

  • Travel to Hamburg and explore the energetic port area surrounding the central lake.
  • After lunch, visit Flensburg, a charming maritime town near the Denmark border.
  • Journey along the Jutland Peninsula and arrive in Aarhus, Denmark’s cultural capital and second-largest city.

Day 5Aarhus – Kristiansand Ferry – Stavanger

  • Head to Hirtshals to board a ferry across the North Sea.
  • Enjoy a scenic three-hour voyage to Kristiansand, a coastal gem in southern Norway.
  • Follow the stunning Norwegian coastline, stopping at Flekkefjord, a quaint town with old-world charm.
  • Arrive in Stavanger, known for its colourful port and vibrant atmosphere by the fjord.
  • *Note: Ferry schedules may vary by season. Lunch is usually available on board.

Day 6Stavanger – Bergen

  • Begin the day at the striking Swords in Rock monument, a tribute to Viking unity.
  • Drive along Norway’s scenic coastline via bridges, tunnels (including one of the deepest undersea tunnels in the world), and boat crossings.
  • Arrive in Bergen, the capital of fjords, just in time for lunch.
  • Ride the Mount Fløyen cable car for panoramic views of the city and the Bergen Fjord.
  • Enjoy free time to wander the historic harbour and charming streets.

Day 7Bergen – Sognefjord – Oslo

  • Discover Norway’s natural wonders en route to Oslo, starting with a visit to Tvindefossen Waterfall.
  • Cruise through the breathtaking Sognefjord, the largest and deepest fjord in Norway, between Gudvangen and Aurland (90 minutes).
  • Travel through the Aurland Tunnel, the longest road tunnel in the world.
  • Stop briefly to admire the Borgund Stave Church (external view), a remarkable example of mediaeval wooden architecture.
  • Arrive in Oslo and explore the harbourfront, main streets, or Frogner Park, home to Gustav Vigeland’s sculptures.

Day 8Continue to Stockholm, Sweden’s elegant capital, arriving by evening.

  • Take a guided panoramic tour of Oslo, known for its striking blend of modern and classical architecture, green spaces, and fjord views.
  • Enjoy free time to explore before heading into Sweden.
  • Stop in Örebro, a lakeside town with a beautiful castle and cobbled old quarter.
  • Continue to Stockholm, Sweden’s elegant capital, arriving by evening.

Day 9Stockholm

  • Explore Stockholm on a panoramic tour of this city built on 14 islands.
  • Walk through Gamla Stan, the charming old town with its vibrant squares and alleys
  • Visit the Nobel Prize Museum, Royal Palace, and Stockholm Cathedral.
  • Soak in views from Fjällgatan, one of the city’s most scenic viewpoints.
